As a nonprofit and a mission-driven youth-serving organization, we are compelled to understand who we are serving, how our programs are performing, and make improvements so that we can achieve our goals of making\u00a0Eureka\u00a0accessible to any youth. Thus, we need to collect certain personal data from you to ensure we are meeting our goals and responsibilities as a youth-serving nonprofit organization.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This\u00a0Eureka\u00a0Privacy Policy describes how\u00a0Eureka\u00a0(\u00abEureka,\u00bb \u00abour,\u00bb \u00abwe,\u00bb \u00abus,\u00bb) collects and processes personal data that users (\u201cuser,\u201d \u201cyour,\u201d or \u201cyou\u201d) provide to us at any of our web sites where this Policy is posted (the \u201cSites\u201d). Award applications may require personal information such as name and contact information and may be submitted by an individual or on behalf of an individual in the case of nominated awards (e.g., Bright Future Award, Dean\u2019s List Award, Volunteer of the Year Award). The personal data (e.g., names, images, and video) of award finalists and winners may be shared across a wide variety of news and media channels and platforms to celebrate achievement and to promote and honor the mission of\u00a0Eureka.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>To communicate with you:\u00a0<\/strong>We use personal data to communicate with you about\u00a0Eureka\u00a0information and related opportunities. For high school-aged students,\u00a0Eureka\u00a0may share education and career discovery opportunities, connections to scholarships and employers, links to\u00a0Eureka\u00a0surveys, and information about how they can participate in\u00a0Eureka\u00a0after graduation as a Eureka alum.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>To conduct marketing and promotional activities:\u00a0<\/strong> We take photographs, record audio and video, and use live broadcasts at our events. We use this media as part of a record of our Programs and to publicly promote\u00a0Eureka. If you participate in a\u00a0Eureka\u00a0Program or a\u00a0Eureka\u00a0event, you agree to grant\u00a0Eureka, and\u00a0Eureka\u00a0Key Donors and Sponsors permission to use your likeness in the promotion of\u00a0Eureka\u00a0programs. We may also contact you related to program recruitment, retention, and other marketing outreach.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>To process transactions:\u00a0<\/strong>We use personal data to engage in interactions with you including to communicate with you about your registration status, payment of team registration, processing of sponsorship information, event information and to process orders, mail program related materials and items, and to collect registration fees or donations.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>To provide support:\u00a0<\/strong>We use personal data to provide you with support or other services that you have requested. We may use your data to respond directly to your requests for information including registering for newsletters, registering a\u00a0team or child for our programs, registering for trainings, professional development or webinars and any other specific requests you make directly of\u00a0Eureka. We may pass your data along to the appropriate partner or department to respond to your request.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>To solicit donations:\u00a0<\/strong>We may use your personal data, including name, email, and mailing address to solicit donations to support the\u00a0Eureka\u00a0mission.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>To comply with Youth Protection Program requirements:<\/strong>\u00a0Eureka\u00a0contracts with certified background screening agencies to conduct background screening on volunteers and staff. We will share your personal data for the purpose of conducting background screening, and as required to address or investigate Youth Protection concerns.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>For insurance purposes:\u00a0<\/strong>In certain cases,\u00a0Eureka\u00a0is required to collect and share information including name, address, phone number, guardian\/ parent name, date of birth, and details about the nature of the injurious event and care provided if you are injured while participating in one of our Programs.\u00a0Eureka may be required to share this information with insurance companies responsible for covering\u00a0Eureka\u00a0Program events, the organization hosting the event, or the facility in which the event is hosted.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>To facilitate financial aid applications:<\/strong> Eureka may use personal data to assess eligibility for financial aid programs and to administer financial assistance for students or teams participating in Eureka programs. This may include reviewing financial information, academic records, program participation history, and other relevant data provided during the application process. Eureka may share this data with authorized third-party organizations, such as financial aid evaluators or grant providers, solely for the purpose of determining eligibility and distributing aid.
